To avoid the attacker, students are seen throwing their belongings out from the second floor and then jumping themselves. According to officials, the students and staff present there had locked themselves in the rooms to save themselves from the attacker. Local media have identified the attacker as an 18-year-old student.
This attack is the deadliest shooting incident in an educational institution in Russia since 2018. Earlier, 20 people were killed by a student at a college in Crimea.
