Indian female wrestler Anshu Malik has created history by winning the silver medal in the World Wrestling Championship. She has become the first Indian female wrestler to achieve this feat. Anshu had to face defeat in the final of the 57 kg weight category. However, he has given the country an opportunity to be proud by making this splendid record in his name.
Anshu became the first Indian female wrestler to reach the finals of the World Wrestling Championships. She reached the final after defeating junior European champion Solomia Vink in the semi-finals on the basis of technical proficiency. She lost 4–1 to Helen Maroulis of America in the final. Anshu also became very emotional after this defeat.

Veteran Indian wrestler Sarita Mor has also won bronze in the World Wrestling Championships held in Osle, Norway. Sarita defeated Sarah Lindborg of Sweden 8-2 in the bronze medal match of 59kg category. She became the second female wrestler to win a medal at the 2021 World Championships.
Anshu is also the third Indian athlete to reach the World Championship final. Before him, athlete Sushil Kumar has reached the finals in the year 2010 and Bajrang Punia in 2018. Apart from this, Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat in the year 2012, Pooja Dhanda in the year 2018 and Vinesh Phogat in the year 2019 won the bronze medal before the Indian women athletes Anshu.
