An all-party meeting was held with 14 leaders of Jammu and Kashmir at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in New Delhi today. In this meeting, Prime Minister Modi brainstormed with all the leaders for about three and a half hours. According to media reports, in this meeting, along with giving full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, discussions have also taken place regarding its development.

According to reports, Prime Minister Modi said in the meeting that he wants to end the distance between Delhi and Dil. Stressing the need to ensure an environment of safety and security in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that there may be political differences but still everyone should work in the interest of the country which benefits the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

After the meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party leader Altaf Bukhari has told that the discussion has taken place in a very good atmosphere. Prime Minister Modi listened to the issues of all the leaders. He said that after the process of delimitation is completed, the process of assembly elections will start. Altaf Bukhari said that everyone spoke their heart in the meeting. PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig also said that the meeting with Prime Minister Modi was wonderful.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that on behalf of the Congress, he put 5 big demands in front of the government. These include the issue of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley. He said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also said that the government is committed to give statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
