An important statement of the President of the 76th session of the United Nations, Abdullah Shahid, has come to the fore amid the ongoing dispute between India and Britain over the Indian corona vaccine ‘Covshield’. Abdullah Shahid has said that he has administered two doses of the Covishield vaccine made in India and he is still alive. According to the report of a leading daily, Abdullah said that a large number of people in the world have also taken this corona vaccine.
Abdullah said this on a question asked on the issue of vaccine. During the press conference, he said that I have got the vaccine made in India for Covishield. I have taken both the doses. I don’t know how many countries have this vaccine and how many are not. But in many countries around the world, a large number of people have taken the Covidshield vaccine.The President of the 76th session of the United Nations further said that the issue of vaccine is very sensitive. When asked whether people should take any generic vaccine dose or those that have been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other organizations. On this, Abdullah said that only the doctor will give the right answer to this matter.
India had sent more than 60 million vaccine doses to about 100 countries through grants, commercial shipments and the COVAX facility. The Maldives, the home country of Abdullah Shahid, was also among the first countries to receive vaccine help in January. The Covishield vaccine has been developed by the Serum Institute of India and AstraZeneca.
