The new Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary, today laid a wreath at the National War Memorial. Along with this, he has also given an important statement regarding the security of the country. VR Choudhary for the first time after taking over the command of the Air Force has also talked about the important steps of the Indian Air Force for the future towards security and ‘Make in India’ initiative. The Indian Air Force Chief said that his first priority would be to ensure the security of the country by using the Air Force properly. With proper training, better use of available weapons and man power, we can be well prepared for any future war.

On the role of the IAF in dealing with the future challenges on the border, the Air Chief said that ‘all our air warriors have great potential, we have the ability to learn more to be able to prepare for future wars’. Talking about the ‘Make in India’ initiative, he said, “We have signed contracts for 83 LCAs and AMCA and LCA-Mk2 are also in the pipeline.
VR Choudhary further informed that surface-to-air guided weapons and several other equipment are also on the cards. We will ensure that ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ is kept in mind in all our procurement plans. He said that ‘we have to take huge steps towards ‘Self-reliant India’ to make us self-reliant in every way.
