A great news has come out for the fans of Indian Premier League (IPL). Yes, two new teams for IPL 2022 will be announced next month. According to a Leading Daily report, the new teams will be announced on October 25. This was announced recently in the IPL Governing Council meeting. Twelve parties have already submitted tenders for this.

According to the report, these include the Sanjeev Goenka Group, a private equity firm based in the Consortium of Singapore and some other parties. Lucknow, Pune and Ahmedabad are the frontrunners in the race for venues for new franchises. It is believed that Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium and Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium may be included in the choice of new franchises due to their seating capacity.

The date of purchase of Invitation for Tender (ITT) was October 5. But later it has been extended to 10 October. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had said in a statement that ‘on the request of the interested parties, the BCCI has now decided to extend the date of purchase of ITT documents till 2021’. For the last several years, eight teams have been playing continuously in the IPL. In such a situation, the excitement of the game will increase further with the inclusion of two new teams in the new season i.e. IPL 2022. Also, IPL will also run for more than two months.
