Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated infrastructure projects built by Border Road Organization (BRO) in Assam. According to the information released by the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Minister inaugurated 12 road projects near the border and said that I am very happy to dedicate these projects to the country. Rajnath Singh has reached Assam for a two-day tour from today.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of 12 roads constructed by BRO, Rajnath Singh said that the region has strategic importance. This region shares borders with many countries. It is also very important from the point of view of development as well as security. The residents of this area will benefit immensely from these roads.

In his address, the Defense Minister said, ‘This is part of the larger goal under the ‘Act East Policy’ of our government, under which the government is laying great emphasis on the overall development of the border areas. He further said that a large number of strategically important bridges and roads have been completed in the border states.
Rajnath Singh also said that the North-East did not develop for a long time. Now the way the North-East region has developed under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, whatever is to be praised is less. He also informed that during the last seven years the budget of BRO for the development of road projects and other infrastructure has been increased three to four times.
