There is no truth in the assertion that there is a new COVID strain in Singapore. Phylogenetic testing has shown that the B.1.617.2 variant is the prevalent strain in many of the COVID cases, including in children, in recent weeks in Singapore.https://t.co/uz0mNPNxlE https://t.co/Vyj7gyyzvJ

In a tweet, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had told the Government of India that air services with Singapore should be canceled because the new variant of Corona, which came in Singapore, is being said to be extremely dangerous for children. This may cause the third wave of corona in India.

Describing Kejriwal’s statement as damaging to India-Singapore relations, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, “India and Singapore are a strong partner in the fight against Corona.” However, in the meantime, there are statements of some irresponsible people who should keep in mind that our long-term partnership may be damaged ‘. Therefore, make it clear that the CM of Delhi is not the voice of the country ‘.
However, irresponsible comments from those who should know better can damage long-standing partnerships.
So, let me clarify- Delhi CM does not speak for India.

EAM further thanked Singapore for supplying oxygen to India. He said that Singapore deployed military aircraft to help us amidst the challenge of the second wave of the Corona pandemic. This shows the extraordinary relationship between the two countries. He further said that people should understand that their irresponsible statements can harm this partnership.
