The celebration of Republic Day of India is considered unique and spectacular in many ways. Many of its traditions are famous worldwide. But this time, due to the Corona pandemic, there were some changes in the ceremony and parade, as well as the corona did not allow to carry on an important tradition. It is a tradition to celebrate the ceremony with the chief guest.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was invited for the 72nd Republic Day celebrations. But due to Corona’s new strain in Britain, Boris Johnson had to cancel his trip. There was no chief guest in the Republic Day parade as he did not visit India. Earlier in the years 1952, 1953 and 1966, there was no chief guest for the parade.

Before the parade, however, President Ram Nath Kovind started the ceremony by hoisting the flag as per tradition. This was followed by the national anthem and a 21-gun salute. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were also present during this period. Bhavna Kant, as the first female fighter pilot in the parade, has given the country a reason to be proud. The display of cultural tableaux in the parade attracted everyone’s attention. Also, a glimpse of the grand cultural heritage of India has been seen.
